Welcome back to week 7 of the One Room Challenge series. If you missed week 6 of the Home Office design, you can find it here.
A quick recap from last week. We finally revealed the painted cabinets! Thank you so much for all of the wonderful comments on our paint selection. It makes me so happy that all of you, and especially my client, love how the paint turned out.
We are one week out from the final reveal and I am cannot wait share it with you! I will be 100% honest. This series has shown me how terrible I am at social media and documenting all of the progress along the way. It seems like I am always racing from one project to another, taking care of my kids or juggling responsibilities at home. I never seem to take enough pictures or the right pictures of the projects throughout the process.
I am completely overwhelmed this week trying to wrap up a kitchen remodel, designing a new powder bathroom, construction meetings on a whole house remodel and an art installation. I have left this blog post for the very last minute. So please forgive me if this post is a little shorter than it has been.
The custom chairs I orginally sourced, (pictured on the left) ended up being a little out of the overall budget. After some clever sourcing, I believe I said something like this to my client... "How much do you trust me?" I promise, I can make these vintage chairs, (pictured in the middle), look FABULOUS. I used the same fabric that we were going to use with the custom chairs and they indeed came out fabulous. I love when I can repurpose old furniture. It brings in a piece of history that we can make our own…and they are so comfortable.
I was finally able to"get my hands dirty" and help my crew on this project. I am always designing, never doing the heavy lifting - not that they would let me - but this time, I finally got my chance to help with the library ladder. I love building and using tools and also love how surpised my crew always seems to be that I can actually do things. The ladder arrived in a lot of pieces, but was surprisingly easy to put together.
The ladder is my client's niece's favorite thing in the room! She is adorable, just like her aunt.
A huge shoutout to my crew. I can design all day long, but they are the ones that bring my visions to life!!!
Stay tuned next week for the final reaveal!!
Just a reminder that this project is part of the Spring 2024 One Room Challenge (ORC) where bloggers, designers, and influencers makeover one room over the course of 8 weeks. Be sure to check out all of the other ORC week four updates on the ORC website. Catch up on my project with the week one office design plan.
