The Final Reveal. ORC Week 8

Welcome back to week 8 of the One Room Challenge series. If you missed week 7 of the Home Office design, you can find it here.

As the project comes to a close, I wanted to revisit the wishes my client had for her new office:

  • 14 foot bookcases that made a dramatic statement

  • Library ladder

  • Moody paint color to really set the vibe for her office

  • Beautiful furniture to add sophistication

I cannot believe we are at the final reveal!!!! Here is the office space in all of its glory.

Ta-da!!!!

This has been such an incredible and challenging  experience! I have thoroughly enjoyed documenting and blogging the design process for my client's office. I absolutely loved hearing all of the feedback and love from the extremely talented designers and followers during this ORC series.

For the final week of this project, it was all about the finishing touches! We focused on:

  • Finishing all paint touch ups

  • Installing drapery and drapery hardware

  • Laying the new rug pad and rug

  • Delivering and installing furniture

  • Photographing the finished room

Before and After Pictures (aka my favorite part)

It is so crazy to see these two photos side by side. It’s such an unbelievable transformation! We were able to take this empty space and turn it into a stunning, sophisticated and swoon-worthy office.

My client trusted my vision of completely color drenching the room, including these gorgeous silk draperies. The curves on the desk, chairs, side table and cabinet hardware helped soften the square lines of the room.

This is a “just pinch me” moment! I am so blessed to be able to have a career that allows me to be creative and productive. While there are often setbacks in the design and construction industry, I try to look at them as challenges to overcome and relish finding creative solutions in the moment.

At the end of the day, the biggest accomplishment I take from each project is the smile on my client's faces when their dream design is completed. My clients, who often times become my friends, put their trust in me to be creative - and that means the absolute world to me.

This project is part of the Spring 2024 One Room Challenge (ORC) where bloggers, designers, and influencers makeover one room over the course of 8 weeks. Be sure to check out all of the other ORC week eight updates on the ORC website. Catch up on my project from the beginning with the week one office design plan.

Thank you so much for following along with me on my blogging journey!

I have a front room just like the before pic, except ithere is a large squared (arch?) as a point of entry and not French doors. I call it our sitting room and this room has stumped me for 4 years since we purchased our home. I was looking online for inspo of a library wall and I just wanted to comment that your work is phenomenal. You should be really happy and proud of yourself. Tremendous vision and finale 👏
